Plank Lane Lift Bridge

After nearly 2 weeks of waiting the lift bridge at Plank Lane was re-opened According to the bridge keeper, an extremely nice man, it was the first time in his 20 odd years of operating the bridge that BW had closed it for the duration of Xmas and New Year. Typical it was when we wanted to get through! After landing in Worsley on Xmas day we had to wait until 5th Jan to get through which has now put us in a rush to get through Wigan locks before they close for stoppages....
